This roofing job was a challenge! When we removed the several layers of roofing that had been on this house since the beginning, we found serious termite and dry-rot damaged to the eaves and fascia boards. After removing and replacing all the damaged wood we were able to get down to the business of installing the new GAF/ELK shingle roof. The homeowner choose a lighter color shingle to be cooler inside the house in the summer months. The color goes well with the paint color of the house and trim.

On this roof,  open beam ceilings and old insulation board created unique challenges.  We removed all the old roofing and started fresh.  Some amount of wood repairs were necessary, and after those were completed we installed new 1” insulation board to keep the house cooler in the summer.  The owner choose a beautiful color for the new roof  called “Copper Canyon” by GAF/ELK.  Notice the low profile attic vents.  These vents made by O’Hagin are a  nice way to vent the attic while keeping them very unobtrusive to the look of the house.

Harris Residence Re-roof Project (Tri-Lam Shingles)

Harris Re-roof - 49

This job really turned out spectacularly!  The homeowner wanted a dramatic custom blended color of super thick CertainTeed Presidential Shake Triple Laminate  fiberglass shingles and we delivered.  The house was originally built with wood shingles for roofing, then another layer of wood shakes was put over the top of the original roof.   We tore off all this old flammable wood roofing and started fresh.  They also decided to replace the dormer windows and stucco at the center front of the roof as you see in the pictures.  We custom blended two colors of the CertainTeed Tri-Lam shingles to give the house the look the homeowners wanted.  Even though this roof was done a few years ago,  the homeowners tell me they still get admirers stopping by  and asking what kind of roof it is!
